Where do I sign to become a member?
In addition to the Gearhead membership application, you will need to sign a waiver that dismisses us from any liability in case of injury, death or any other incident to you or your property. An automotive shop will always be an inherently dangerous area. If you get hurt you are responsible for yourself. You are NOT covered by shop insurance.
Do you know how to fix this?
This is a DIY garage – the ‘Y’ stands for Yourself. On a serious note, nobody knows it all, so Gearhead gives you access to the Snap-On Zeus Diagnostic Center that will provide detailed information on the repair of most vehicles, additional charge will applies.
Are mechanics available to assist with repairs?
A mechanic will generally be on duty to advise customers at no charge. If you get stuck and need us to finish the job or just do it for you, our shop rates starts at $110/ hour.
Can I just drive up and rent a bay?
Due to high demand, we recommend you reserve a bay by calling us at 401-739-0090.
Can I paint my car in the shop?
NO. Sorry.
Can I mount tires and balance wheels?
YES. We have professional equipment available here for that with additional charge.
Can I leave my car overnight?
Yes, on a limited basis we can offer FREE overnight storage for customers who will be working on their car for more than one day.
Can I store my car at Gearhead during the week until I have time to work on it?
Yes, not for free, but at a fee to be arranged according to the circumstances.
Where’s the closest auto parts store?
While it’s always best to bring your own parts, there are several auto parts stores in the area. For bigger projects, you may have parts like engines and transmissions delivered here with proper notice.
Do you allow motorcycles?
Yes. We are set up for motorcycles, cars and light trucks only.
